Youth Clubs Hampshire & Isle of Wight has been working to enable young people to fulfil their true potential since 1942. Our continuing success has been largely due to the ongoing support of “sponsors”, these are individuals, organisations, county and district councils, grant giving bodies and our fantastic fundraising committee.
Our work is aimed at the Social, Personal and Physical development of young people using an informal educative approach. What makes youth work so effective is the young people’s attendance is entirely voluntarily and they can therefore “vote with their feet” if they don’t find what is on offer fun, challenging and rewarding. And what we offer ranges from opportunities to learn how to get on with a wide range of other young people to taking some positive action to enhance the community in which they live.
How Can You Help?
Individuals can help by becoming a FRIEND and gift aiding a regular amount either monthly or annually. By taking this option we are able to reclaim the tax already paid on the donation so for every £10.00 donated we can claim an additional £2.82 which makes this an ideal way of supporting this vital work of YCHIOW.
Our Fundraising Committee continues to support the organisation by raising money via a number of events throughout the year; these include a Clay Pigeon Shoot and sumptuous lunch, a Michelmas Fayre where you can buy all your Christmas presents under one roof, and a Rocking & Reeling party which takes place between Christmas and New Year. You can support us either by becoming a member of this hard working group or attending one of their events. If you are at all interested please contact the office on 01962 852307.
Sponsors can help by supporting individual activities we run or individual young people attending these activities. For instance £500.00 would pay for a young person to attend a Momentum course or take part in the Tall Ships Experience.
