GET INVOLVED!!!!!!

Bored? Tired of everyone else making decisions for you? Wish people would really listen to what you have to say? Well, here is the ultimate guide to getting involved and taking an active part in Youth Participation.

PARTICIPATE (VERB): TO JOIN IN, TO TAKE PART, TO INVOLVE ONESELF.

Youth Participation is the concept of young people being meaningfully involved in all aspects of their community, this means not just turning up, taking part and having things done for you, but having a real voice, being involved in planning and running events, being involved in your local council and National Parliament, having a say in your school, college or community and much, much more…………

So, where do you start? Decide what you want to be involved with, it could be that you want to sit on your local youth council, you could want to be a Young Leader involved in the running of your local youth project, be on your school council, be a CAT Mark Assessor or pretty much anything that interests you. Speak to someone who can help, a youth worker or teacher or contact your local council, if you look on their website you should be able to find local groups you can get involved in.

Here is a list of websites and contacts where you can find information on Participation in your area, or call us on 01962 852307 and we’ll try and point you in the right direction…….
